Marmaduke (2022) - Movie Review

Because there are only so many spaces for me to watch movies in December, I’ve tried to be careful with the ones I pick for review. This year has involved less of me actively seeking bad movies to watch; not saying I haven’t gone after them on purpose at all in 2022, just that I’ve done less of it. This will be an exception, though, as this is primarily the result of morbid curiosity on my part as to how this could be the third-lowest rated film of 2022 on Letterboxd (beneath the 365 Days sequels), as well as meeting my ‘bitching about talking animal movies’ quota for the year. Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022) - Movie Review

It’s been a while since a film last caught my attention purely on the basis of its cast. Like, beyond anything to actually do with the film’s contents, I knew I had to check this one out in the cinemas based purely on who’s in it. I admittedly don’t know everyone here; I hadn’t even heard of Industry or Generation before doing my usual Googling, so I didn’t know Myha’la Herrold or Chase Sui Wonders (although, credit where it’s due, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for them from now on). Everyone else, though? Not only is it cool just seeing this cast in a new movie on its own, but holy shit, the specific casting is downright brilliant.

The King Of Staten Island (2020) - Movie Review

Judd Apatow, one of the most influential figures in modern American comedy, has returned to screens with a new writing/directing effort. After his last feature with Trainwreck, which both launched and remains the sole high point of Amy Schumer’s cinematic career, I can’t say I knew what to expect outside of the traditional Apatow formula: Showing immature adults at a point where they need to grow the fuck up. But even with that in mind, I was not expecting to walk away from his latest and being this… moved.
